RAY YOUNG Ray (Raymond / Shorty) Young, late of Lumdsen, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 77 years with family at his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Nellie, brother Lloyd and sister-in-law Lydia. Ray is remembered by his loving wife of 32 years, Sylvia; daughter Bobbie Parkin (John Buist) of Yellowknife, NT, granddaughter Becky Parkin and great-grandson James Labine, both of Edmonton; brothers, Bill (Kathleen) and Allan (Audrey) of Lumsden; sister-in-law Mildred of Regina; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Ray was born and raised in the Lumsden area but his passion for farm equipment took him on adventures around the world and he and Sylvia were blessed to spend many winters as Arizona snowbirds at their home in Mesa, where he enjoyed golf, the weather, and the company of family and friends. A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held at the Lumsden Centennial Hall, 40 – 3rd Avenue, Lumsden, SK on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donation in Ray’s memory, may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK, S4P 3Z4.
